The Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC) has announced its commitment to compensate depositors and former employees of the now-defunct Peak Merchant Bank.
This assurance was conveyed in a statement issued by Mr. Bashir A. Nuhu, the Director of Communication and Public Affairs at NDIC.
The statement outlines that the NDIC has completed preparations for disbursing the initial liquidation dividend to affected individuals. To facilitate this process, a verification exercise has been initiated, allowing depositors of the defunct bank to review and confirm their account details and balances at the time of the bank’s closure.
The NDIC encourages all eligible stakeholders associated with the defunct bank to take advantage of this opportunity. They can visit any the NDIC office or access the NDIC website at www.ndic.gov.ng to verify their claims.
The verification process commenced on Monday, September 18, and is set to conclude on October 16, 2023. Completed verification forms can also be submitted via the corporation’s email address.
