During the meeting, the Honourable Minister and the UN Women Representative to Nigeria and ECOWAS, Ms Comfort Lamptey, discussed areas of potential collaboration around gender equality and public financial management. This included gender responsive budgeting, monitoring and evaluation, and implementation of the COVID-19 fiscal stimulus plan.
The Honourable Minister updated the UN Women on the Budget Office’s current work on gender responsive budgeting.
Responding, they commended the Honourable Minister for her leadership, and noted that the work being undertaken in Nigeria around gender equality and public financial management is exemplary.
