The headquarters of Nigeria’s Federal Ministry of Finance in Abuja has not been engulfed in fire as earlier reported by numerous media houses.
FMFINSIGHTS reports that a battery pack that was outside the building exploded in the early hours of today at about 6. am, but it was immediately handled by the security on the ground at the office complex.
“The situation was not a fire incident as being reported. Rather there was an incident on the corridor on the basement involving an isolated battery Pack and it was quickly put out by the security personnel on duty,” Yunusa Tanko Abdullahi, Special Adviser, Media & Communications to the Hon Minister, Finance, Budget and National Planning, told FMFINSIGHTS.
The Ministry’s building located within the Central Business District is also adjacent to the Federal Secretariat in the nation’s capital.
